The aims and tasks of China Foundry Association

China Foundry Association (CFA) was founded in 1986, it was voluntarily established by foundry enterprises, and local foundry related enterprises, research and tertiary institutes all across China. Registered at Ministry of Civil Affairs and approved by the State Council of P.R China, it is a national first-grade non-governmental foundry organization.


The aim of CFA: safeguarding the common interests of foundry industry, reflecting members’ appeals, serving as a bridge between the government and foundry industry, assisting the government to improve the industry’s standards, strengthening industry self-discipline, speeding up structural adjustment, transforming development mode, promoting technology progress and industrial upgrading, promoting the development of industry cluster, and contributing to build China to be a foundry power nation.


CFA’s functions cover industry administration, research and investigation, policy suggestion, organization and coordination, consultation, international communication, rights protection, industry self-regulation, education and training, code setting, etc.


CFA, with 1574 business entities-mainly the national key foundry enterprises-and more than 60 regional foundry associations (more than 6500 indirect business entities), has over 8,000 members in total. The casting output of these members constitutes more than 70% of the total casting output of China.


CFA Secretariat (with branches) is the standing body, with 122 staff; it also employs 200 expert advisors and volunteers.


CFA has passed ISO9001 Quality Management System Certification in Feb. 2009.

CFA has been appraised as the national AAAA-level association by Ministry of Civil Affairs in May 2009.

CFA has been awarded the title “The Advanced Association in National Machinery Industry” by China Machinery Industry Federation in Mar. 2011.

The Open University of China Foundry College has founded in May 2013.

The China Foundry Museum sponsored by CFA was officially opened in May2012.

CFA has been appraised as the national AAAAA-level association by Ministry of Civil Affairs in June 2013.

In March 2014, China Foundry Association was awarded the honorary title of “Advanced National Machinery Industry Unit” by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
